Previously completed projects
Self-help groups, women’s cooperatives and reproductive health projects FSA has completed or continued over the years.
FSA is always checking how our projects are going, learning from them and adjusting them to serve the people of Afar better. We are proud to have completed, or continued, these projects:
- Self-help groups. We set up about 20 self-help groups under the CSSP programme. The first project, the Pastoralist Women Wellbeing Improvement Project, ran from 1 September 2013 to 15 August 2014.
- Afar reproductive health. Also supported by CSSP, the project “Be partners in Afar women reproductive health improvement” ran from 1 October 2014 to 31 March 2016.
- Income generation. Since 2012, Valleys of Hope in the UK has funded seven women’s cooperatives.
- Afar Pastoralist Community Reproductive Health Improvement (APCRHI) Project. With funding from the EU Civil Society Fund (CSF2), this project focuses on reproductive health and income generation for women.
